Clair’s Clan : James Cox

kingfisher

My guest today is a fellow author and friend. Please welcome James Cox to Clair’s Clan today

  1. Will you tell us a little about yourself.

I’m bisexual. I love men, women, reading, dogs (not in that way, you freak.) I like cats but they’re always giving me the evil eye. Yes, I do believe in God, so no ‘God hates gays’ mail please. I detest smiley faces and people who talk on the phone while they’re driving. I have a crush on my boss who doesn’t know I’m bi and always staring at his ass. I love writing, particularly when it takes place in other worlds or galaxies. I only have m/m books out but one day I’ll venture into pussy territory. I always wanted to paint nude men!

  1. Why did you start to write? Have you always longed to write a book or was there a trigger?

I’ve always been a dreamer and I constantly read as a kid. I wanted to write but I never had time. A few years ago, I came out to my family about being Bi-sexual. Well, that was a mess and I was kicked out of the house. When I was on my own, I was lucky enough to get a job that would support me but I always longed to write. So, when I have down time at work, I write and so far, it’s been an amazing adventure!

  1. What sort of books do you write?

Science fiction is pretty much my genre. I like to add hot m/m romance to it. I have three books out so far and I just finished a fourth.

  1. Which author or authors have influenced you and why?

I read pretty much everything from history books to hardcore erotica. I’m constantly consuming books like food, feeding my addiction to be in another world. Many authors influenced me and naming just one would be like catching the moon.

  1. If you could have only one book, which one would it be and why?

I don’t think I’d be able to pick just one. At the moment I’m reading James Patterson, Richard Castle and Evernight Publishing books. I couldn’t give any one up!

  1. How do you get yourself in the mood for writing?

Some days are easier than other. It’s usually a matter of time rather than mood. With my day job it’s a lot of traveling and hours. If I do get stuck though I always find myself roaming Facebook and staring at some of the more erotic photos. It usually gets my…writing going. *G* It helps that my love life is extremely stale at the moment. You see I have this little (Huge) crush on my boss. He’s fucking amazing and sexy and doesn’t have a clue I stare at his ass whenever he bends down. *G*

  1. What is the strangest place you have written in?

I stick with home and if there’s some time at work I’ll stay in my quiet office during lunch.

  1. Where do you live? Tell us what you like about your town or city?

Manhattan is the current place I call home. It’s…adventurous. I would like to move further away from the honking horns though. Maybe somewhere with a waterfall and a horde of naked men looking for someone to put lotion on their chests *G*

  1. If you could live anywhere in the world where would you choose and why?

Oh, that is a great question. It would probably be Bora Bora or Canada. I know such extremes but I find both to be such amazing places. Just Google Bora Bora! And I’ve visited Canada in the past to find it a wonderful land that I’d like to see again. Of course, there’s also Ireland or Scotland because those accents are delicious!

13. What is your pet hate?

Let’s see. Talking on the phone while you drive/text is a big one. New Yorkers are notorious for the driving and I can attest to that. My real hate though is hate itself. No one should be oppressed because of their sexual orientation or color or religion. We humans have to learn to accept differences and work together before our planet is torn apart by ignorance.

Quickies….

1. A place you have always wanted to visit – Bora Bora

2. Favourite meal – Pizza and beer (I’m easy)

3. Most memorable moment in your life – The day I came out to my family.

3. Favourite place in your apartment – In front of my big windows looking out over Manhattan.

4. A TV programme you never miss – Spartacus!

5. A real person living or dead you wish you could meet – Harrison Ford because he’s Indiana Jones or Manu Bennett because I want to lick that man from head to toe!

6. Superstitious – Well, I won’t be going a ladder anytime soon *W*

7. Do you celebrate Valentine’s Day – With a beer and a good porno *G*

Title: The Outlaw’s Lover

Blurb: Will the outlaw become a hero?

Rian didn’t ask for trouble, he was just a geeky coward who managed to survive the virus that wiped out most of the world. He was smitten with an Outlaw, a forbidden attraction that sets his desire on fire. This cowardly gay man finds himself in a town at the end of the world ruled by homophobes. Oh, and there’s also a raging volcano ready to blow that these crazy folks want to sacrifice him in. Now, he’s trapped like a caged beast and death is imminent.

Rian has only one hope of survival – the outlaw.

Excerpt: Rian parked just before the trees and started down the first row. He just placed the first bucket in the back of the truck when a noise stopped him cold in his tracks. Rian knew the sound by heart, a shotgun cocking. His breath froze in his lungs. He bit his lower lip and carefully turned. What greeted his eyes was the sexy Outlaw. Rian couldn’t move.

The Outlaws shoulder length blond hair was wet like he’d just gone for a swim. It clung to his scalp but it was those eyes that seemed to swallow Rian whole. Outlaw tilted his head and the smallest of grins played at his lips. Slowly, he lowered the gun until it pointed to the hard ground. Rian finally took a breath but kept still. What did he want? The guy wanted him for something. First at the window, now here, maybe Outlaw was following him.

“You can’t trust them, mate.”

Rian jerked as if he was shot. Outlaw spoke a full sentence. He had an Australian accent that made its words almost like very satisfied purrs. Rian didn’t speak. In the past, silence usually went further than attitude. Beside he was too damn scared to speak and too horny to say anything useful. Rian always went stupid around hot guys.

Outlaw took a single step forward. His clothes clung to his very fine body like a second skin. “They’re dangerous.” He frowned. “I’m not going to hurt you. I’m trying to warn you.”

Rian nodded, his heart pounding in his chest.

“Are you listening to me?” Outlaw took another step forward.

Rian was both aroused and afraid. He moved away but the back of his legs slammed against the truck. The world seemed to stop. Birds silenced, breeze ceased and Outlaw took two more steps forward. He seemed to be studying Rian. Those eyes roamed Rian’s body and finally stopped on his lips. Rian swallowed hard. He still couldn’t speak as Outlaw inched even closer. Their clothes almost touch. His handsome face was only inches from Rian.

“I want to keep you safe.” Outlaw whispered.

The words were lost to Rian’s ears. He could feel the heat from Outlaw’s body and smell the gentle scent of pine and fresh water. Rian could hardly breathe as the sexy bad boy advanced. Their lips were less than an inch apart. Breaths mingled to become one and then those plump perfect lips touched his. Rian exhaled, his pulse beating wildly in his neck as the touch turned into a kiss. It was tame, sweet, and even romantic.

A shotgun went off.

It startled Rian into gasping and jerking backward. Outlaw looked at him hard, licked his lips and ran into the wild fields of apples. He could hardly breath. Rian’s lips tingled like he’d sucked cock for hours.

Thank you for answering my questions and we wish you every success with your work. This looks a very interesting read…
