A little group I helped to organize had it’s fall event this past Sunday. The group tries to create presentations that present traditional Japanese cultural activities with demonstrations of Kinbaku life drawing and photography opportunities plus Japanese refreshments.

The theme this time was “Japanese legends, ghosts and ghouls” and ties that relate to classical Japanese stories and Kabuki plays. I did some Kinbaku, used masks for theatrical effect and the refreshments were an assortment of Japanese sweets to go with the rather Halloween-like occasion.

It went well and we had the honor of having LA celebrity photographer Michael Helms in attendance.
